Emma & Justin

Where do I even begin with this family? They had me memzmorized when Emma wanted a Seahawks jersey and flag wrapped around her as one of her senior session outfits.

A destination wedding in Anna Marie, Florida. December 2020. Covid was still a thing, masks and tests and plans ebbing and flowing. Bags were packed, flights were boarded, and Gracie and I arrived. It was the most laid-back, relaxing vacation-ish wedding I’d ever been to or photographed. Everyone and I mean everyone there to have fun. Bare feet were a necessity. The ceremony on the beach with onlookers Ewing and awe as if they were watching fireworks on the fourth of July. An intimate family wedding is what they were after, precisely what they achieved. Ceremony over, I escaped with the bride, veil, and groom for some kissy photos. Then we headed to Two Scoops for ice cream. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis returned to the beach just before their first sunset as a married couple. My favorite image wasn’t perfect lighting; it wasn’t even in focus; it was Emma and Justin dancing under a string of Christmas lights in the grass of their makeshift reception to music playing from a Bluetooth speaker. It was just the two of them, lost in each other.
