Callie Calla's on Cape (12 yrs.old)

Callie Jo decided a few years ago she wanted to start “doing things” for her birthday instead of “getting stuff”. For her 10th birthday she wanted to attend the Goetta Fest in Newport, Ky. Goetta Life

This year with moving to a new state I wasn’t sure what her birthday would shake out to be. I was so worried she would miss her friends and wish they could be here. Which of course she did. They both facetimed her in the early morning of her birthday which put a huge smile on her face.

Just to get the girls plugged in out here I signed them up for a cake decorating class a week after we moved at a local bakery. Callie Jo loves helping me in the kitchen. While I love cooking and kinda like baking, she loves to bake. They decorated a beach theme cake then brought them home for all of us to enjoy. When I was trying to come up with an idea for her birthday I peeked at Amie Bakery’s class schedule. Wouldn’t you know there was a Mastering Fruit Tarts class the day after her birthday. After talking to Corey we decided this would be a great “thing” for the girls and I to do for her big day. We surprised her Saturday morning with some brownie mix and her certificate to attend the class the next day with Gracie and I. She was so excited she welled up with tears.

If you ask Callie Jo right now what her future plans are she would say, the second she turns 15 she wants to start working at Amie Bakery just like her big sister. Then she wants to go to find a baking school to attend so she can open up Callie Callas on the Cape. If you come pay us a visit don’t be surprised if there is a made-from-scratch beautiful fruit tart waiting for you.

Here’s a little glimpse into Callie Jo’s 12th birthday from Amie Bakery & Cape Cod. An enormous thank you to Amie for making this birthday one my girls and I will remember forever.
