5-9 fri. Chi-town
we were headed north, only 40+ minutes from one of my favorite cities. we met a new family thru tony's summer lacrosse season. we were instant carpool, group chat, hilarious, pee your pants kinda fun friends. they have a son tonys age, avery and then theres graham b. who is callie Jo's age. gracie stayed home with a friend and the pup. we met up at 12 and headed to the windy city. once there we parked and walked (my favorite part of a city is walking it). it just so happened taste of chicago was happening. the city was extremely alive. this made my heart do a happy dance. we wouldn't visit this trip but I made a mental note to add this to my list of must dos. tony had visited Chicago with school in may. when the question of where should we eat came up there was no dispute it had to be portillo's. of course we had to walk through millennium park, around the cloud gate, down Michigan ave. across Warsaw bridge, and see the gentlemen. we grabbed donuts from a little spot corey and I found when we visited a couple years ago glazed and infused near lincoln park. to say we had fun would be a huge understatement. we made the best of 4 and half hours. here is a snap shot of our mini chi-town Friday nite.
